Isaiah 9:6–7 (NLT) - 6 For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!

Five reasons to accept Jesus as King! 

1. The ETERNAL King
   1. His rule will NEVER END.
   2. Micah 5:2 (NLT) - 2 But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf.
   3. Psalm 2:10–12 (NLT) - 10 Now then, you kings, act wisely! Be warned, you rulers of the earth! 11 Serve the LORD with reverent fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Submit to God’s royal son, or he will become angry, and you will be destroyed in the midst of all your activities— for his anger flares up in an instant. But what joy for all who take refuge in him!
2. The RIGHTFUL King
   1. Isaiah 11:1–2 (NLT) — 1 Out of the stump of David’s family will grow a shoot— yes, a new Branch bearing fruit from the old root. 2 And the Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.

3. The UNIVERSAL King
   1. Revelation 7:9–10 (NLT) — 9 After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. 10 And they were shouting with a great roar, “Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!”
   2. He is a personal King.
   3. He is the King of your people.
   4. He is the King of His Church.
   5. He is the King of all people.
   6. He is the King of all creation! 
4. The VICTORIOUS King
   1. A King's glory is connected to his Victory! 
   2. Matthew 12:28–29 (NLT) - 28 But if I am casting out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you. 29 For who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger-someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house.
   3. Colossians 2:15 (NLT) - 15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross. 
   4. “We fight not FOR Victory, but FROM Victory.”
5. The COMING King
   1. The King is away but is returning. 

Matthew 24:30–31 (NLT) — 30 And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world—from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.
